• 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 cup diced onion (1 medium onion)
  • 1-½ cups diced celery (3 stalks)
  • ½ cup diced green chili (4 oz. can or 2 chilies)
  • One 29-ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • Two 15-ounce cans kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
  • Two 15-ounce cans pinto beans (drained and rinsed)
  • One 15-ounce can black beans (drained and rinsed)
  • Two 15-ounce cans diced tomatoes (with juice)
  • 1 tablespoon cumin powder
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1½ teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup water


Brown meat in a large pot over medium heat. Crumble meat into pea-sized pieces and add celery and onion as it browns. Drain fat and return pot to stove. Add seasonings. Add all remaining ingredients and simmer for 3 to 4 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve chili as is or over pasta with cheese and onions.
