Macaroni & Cheese


  • 16 oz. sharp cheddar cheese (or other variety)
  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 4 tablespoons margarine or butter
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 16 oz. macaroni noodles


If you have a shaker, add flour to milk in shaker and shake thoroughly. (Otherwise, melt margarine or butter in sauce pan and stir in flour.) Pour into sauce pan and add margarine. Heat over medium heat stirring frequently. Add cubed or sliced cheese to mixture and stir frequently. While the sauce is heating, cook macaroni according to box directions. Drain macaroni when finished. Stir salt and pepper into cheese sauce. Sauce is ready when all cheese has melted and mixture thickens a bit. Pour macaroni noodles and cheese sauce into a casserole pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
